Monganeghbour is a CBO found in Nyamira county Kenya, it was founded in 2018 and registered in the year 2024, the organization is currently registered with civil society organization (CSO). It specializes in empowering building (Training for transformation).

Overview

MNEO established 2018 with a humble four-member Team in Nyamira County, has evolved into a vibrant family of 40 members. The Primary focus lies in the empowerment of vulnerable members of the community. The organization is deeply committed to addressing poverty,  human rights violations of children, widows/widowers, inequality and lack of awareness (consciousness) among vulnerable members in the community.

VISION

We envisage transformed and empowered communities which:

  1. Make decisions on what development they desire and own it.
  2. Gain the confidence required to take positive action to shape their own destiny
  3. Uphold rights of children, widows and widowers.

MISSION

To promote social and economic empowerment for widows, widowers, children and other vulnerable members of the community through awareness creation.

GOAL

To increase people’s awareness of their situations to enable them identify and analyze the root causes of the problems and take responsibility for shaping their own lives.

OBJECTIVES

The key objectives of MNEO are to empower communities:

  1. Gain self-confidence in order for them to contribute their experiences and insights in a common search for solutions to problems they are faced with.
  2. Through awareness creation on the need for poverty reduction and self-sustainable development.
  3. Become more aware of their human rights in order for them to enhance their power of reason  and improve service delivery.

Main Activity

Awareness creation and enhancement of socio-economic empowerment for creating wealth by the vulnerable members in the communities.

Other activities include:-

  1. Saving and loaning for small businesses (Table Banking).
  2. Farming as a business (vegetable production, dairy Farming) through Agro ecology practices.
  3. Awareness creation on Gender iniquity and Gender equality (Gender and Development).
  4. Awareness creation on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Human Trafficking.
  5. Training on Human Rights of widows, widowers, the elderly and the children.

Partners

We collaborate with a range of partners, including, Stitching Suikertantefonds, Government agencies, civil society organizations and local communities. In essence, we anxiously seek to partner with international supporters, where we can. Together we amplify our impact and create a united front for empowering the less fortunate members of the community.

By partnering with the local communities and empowering them to engage in promotion of community empowerment, we create a sense of ownership and stewardship, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the initiative.
